Artist's Comments

Grace, royalty, elegance, and comfort all combine in a garment that is guaranteed to make a statement.

Enter the room knowing that all eyes will be on you, in the Royal Purple Jamavar Yukata. Deep purple shines with gold highlights, and is covered with gold zari work, which is enhanced even further by more zari work on the sleeves. In Japanese fashion, the backs of the sleeves are left open, so that movements of the fabric will allow you to see the inside of the garment, where the pattern is reversed. Imagine a regular glimpse of gold as you are moving.

The 90" Obi is long enough to go around any waist, and, can be tied in a more traditional manner, or with a large bow. The Jamavar Satin fabric is stiff enough to hold a nice tie, but soft and buttery against the skin.

The sleeves are open underneath, allowing the wearer to remove the arms from the sleeves, if desired. This allows the wearer to tuck the sleeves into the obi at the back, so that the wearer my reach across a table without dragging the sleeves into the food.

Rolled hems and french hems mean that there is no fraying on the edges. A slight train in the back adds to the grace of line when walking, and pleated shoulders make this a one-size garment that truly is one-size-fits-all.

Materials:

- 6.5 yards of Jamavar Satin
- Polyester thread

Details:

- Rolled hems and French Seams - no fraying
- Full garment will fit around all body types, easily and gracefully
- 90" Obi can also be used as a scarf
- Pleated shoulders add fullness and fit all body types
- Open sleeves in the back so you can see the beauty of the fabric
- Side slits to allow freedom of movement
- Easy care - Cold water wash and drip dry.
- One Size fits all
