Just so you know, this is the practice piece so that I knew what I was getting into for the one with the copper colored Zari work.
The perfect robe for when you REALLY want to show off! A full seven yards of a Jamavar Banasari sari have been converted to something that is not quite like anything anyone will ever see. Peacock colored satin fabric is filled with a silver tone zari weave. The fabric is completely reversible, with a complementary silver with peacock accents on the other side. If the garment shows the reverse, you will not be disappointed! Japanese sleeves are left open in the back so that the observer may glimpse the beauty of the fabric from the inside. Rolled hems on every place that can have one mean that you will not experience any fray of the fabric. The slight train is designed to give an extra touch of flow to the garment, no matter where you wear it. Dress in something REALLY impressive at your next costume party. Wear around the house as a hostess robe, or just to revel in the softness of the fabric. Materials: - Banasari Jamavar Satin - Rayon/Poly blend - Rayon Thread Details: - Rolled hems so that there is no fraying - Jamavar Banasari Satin flows and is soft to the skin - Pleated at the shoulders for fullness - One size fit looks amazing on all wearers - Rich silver weave withing the fabric - Reversible fabric means that you don't have to keep it closed - 90" Obi will fit most any waistline - Slight train adds elegance to the flow of the garment - Soft fabric drapes beautifully - Easy care fabric - Cold water wash and drip dry Extra detail can be found in my Scraps: Detail of the Front Top Part: [link] Detail of the Front Bottom Part: [link] As always, comments are very much appreciated and welcomed. Oh holy.. I'm suddenly a lot more nervous.. how am I gonna live up to one of these??
Seriously hon.. this is absolutely stunning.. the train makes it even more elegant than your pieces usually are... and I love the traditional feel of this obi.. plus I'm a sucker for blues and silvers.. even though I tend to look better in warm tones.. lol *bounces* I so totally cannot wait for Con! -- The Matchbox Twent Madness Contest has begun! Yep. This is the practice. Usually, I do my practices on the piece that is the least favored of the fabrics, just to make sure that if I have to rip it apart, that I won't hate doing so. I'm so glad you like it! -- Groups I've joined: =HistoricCostume *Enchantedforest ~TextilesAlliance *ArtisanCraft *The-Labyrinth-Club ~Pickmans-Model *EtsySellers ~uniquejewels-club ~KIMONO-LOVERS ~CostumeDesignCentral *JewelryClub Heh. Heh. Heh. Thank you - although I will not take responsibility for the messy keyboard.
