Description

I had decided to climb the mountain to seek wisdom. After a very long climb, after much work to find the path up the mountain, after many days of arduous labour, I finally reached the top. There, I saw a little old lady, contemplating her garden.

I asked her if should would show me the way to wisdom, and she pointed to her garden near the temple. I laughed at her, saying that there was no wisdom in a garden. It was just a place where the peasants worked.

When I came to, I was at the bottom of the mountain, covered in bruises, and my teeth were loose. I'm guessing that I must have slipped.

I climbed the mountain again, for it was well known in my village that there was wisdom to be gained at the top. Again, I met the little old lady, and again I asked her to point the way to wisdom. "You should help me," she replied. "Take those two buckets and fill them with water from the well." Naturally I laughed, and explained that a warrior should not demean himself by doing womens work.

When I came to, I was at the bottom of the mountain. My bruises had coloured most of my skin black and blue, and I was missing a couple of teeth.

Tonight, I shall not climb the mountain. I have attained wisdom - and a couple of fractures.

So, Michelle comes to me with a sari, and asks me to make a Kimono or her Mom. I do so, and apparently her Mom loves it. She was nice enough to pose for some pics, and here they are. Other views can be found in my scraps [link] .

Materials: One Sari and about a million miles of thread. Sari is of a poly-rayon blend with a slightly stiff drape, which feels softer than it actually looks. Printed material.

Time: About 3 hours

Details:

All hems are rolled so there are no loose threads
Closed arm holes so that the wearer will be warmer
Loose fit given by using a lot of pleats
Matching belt
Shorter kimono sleeves for easier use when working on something
Shorter Kimono to show off the patterns of the Sari
