Mauvey Yukata with Copper

Description

An unexpected color combination for a striking garment.

If you are going to a more fomal affair, this is the robe for you. But don't let the smooth flow, soft drape, and gorgeous detail fool you. This yukata is just as much at home on the beach as at a party, and is as comfortable as a hostess robe as at a costume bash.

The soft rose color of the yukata should be subtle, but it pops with copper highlights. All over zari work weaving on Jamavar brocade gives a richness to the robe, while buttery soft fabric drapes over the body.

Sleeves are open in the back, in traditional Japanese fashion, so that the viewer may see the reverse of the fabric, and admire all the copper. The obi/belt is 90" long, so it will go around any waist and still have room for a nice bow. Pleating at the shoulders gives a roomy fit, so that one size really does fit all, gracefully.

As always, the hems are rolled and there is french seaming on the sleeves, so there is no fraying. Easy care garment with a cold water wash and drip dry approach.

Materials:

- Jamavar brocade fabric
- Rayon thread
Details:

- One size garment - fits any size figure
- Pleated shoulders for fullness
- 90" obi/belt fits any waistline
- Exceedingly soft material- delightful feeling against the skin
- Side slits for ease of movement
- Open sleeves in the back
- Reverse of fabric looks wonderful when glimpsed
- Strong construction
- Rolled hems so there is no fraying
- French seams so there is no fraying
- Easy care - cold water wash and drip dry

I've been experimenting with different backgrounds because all that white is driving me insane. I'm still not 100% sure that this is exactly what I want to do with it, but it's a start.

The colour is very pretty, but this isn't a yukata. It looks more like a furisode, the length of the sleeves and the fabric you use are never permissible for yukata since yukata can only be made in cotton. Also, the obi should be of a thicker fabric and should make contrast with thecolour of the furisode. I don't mean to offend, it's just that kitsuke is quite complicated, it's an art, so it's good to do a bit more research before producing garnments. :)
