It has been a very long time since I posted a Kimono, and this one turned out to be better than I could have possibly hoped.
Materials:
- French Chiffon Sari with extensive embroidery
- Embroidery done in Rayon Thread
Details:
- One Size fits most
- Embroidery covers entire garment
- Long sleeves in traditional style
- Rolled hems so there are no fraying seams
- Pleated at the shoulders so that the garment will drape well
As usual, comments and critiques are welcomed and encouraged.
Yes, it is my own mix of all kinds of things. I took an Indian Sari, and made the Kimono to have some very traditional things on it, like the way the sleeves are attached (Japan), with a Chinese approach to the actual way the sleeves work (kitten smuggling sleeves), but with a slight change to the sleeve to show off all the lovely embroidery on the bottom, along with the pleats (mine) and the front part (European Coats). It's very much a mix of everything to make a garment that I like the visual of.
There's a reason my imprint is Pan-Gaia Designs: I couldn't make up my mind about one style! *grin*

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
